Hazel and George don’t react to the murder of their son. They sit and watch television. They don’t react because they forget in an instant by the handicaps. They live believing in nothing, and only living and recording happy moments.

When they murder Hazel's and George's son they don't notice that it was him. I agree with Ahra, because they are being like brain washed with does handicaps, so that they can only remember what the government wants. When Hazel sees the TV, she just doesn't remember a thing after, she just knows she saw something horrible, but everything else is blanck.

Hazel and George don't rally react to their sons murder because they can't really think about it. Hazel, wont remember because of the memory problem that might be her problem or it could be something to not remeber but she would nto know. George can't think about it because evrytime he does a shock will go through his brain.

Hazel and George did not
react because they are disabled to remember or think of anything. In the case of the murder of their son, their brain could not process and understand what had just happened. The only aspect they were allowed to understand is that something horrible had just happened.

As Mary said, I don't think any of them realized it was their son who had just been murdered on TV. Hazel has short term memory loss and basically forgets everything. George has the handicap radio, which buzzes and scaters his thoughts every 20 seconds or so.

Hazel and George react blankly to the murder of their son on television. Even when he started appearing they could barely recognize him, so that when he was murdered they really could barely understand what has happened and before they had a chance to realize it, it had already disappeared. Hazel because she was dumb or something and can't remember a thing and Gerorge because everytime he begins to form a thought it rapidly disapears because a loude noice always interups his ideas before he forms them. In the end they both just react blankly for they forgett it almost as soon as it has happened.

Hazel and George didn't really react to the murder of their son, because Hazel forgot before even telling George what had happened.I found myself dumb founded when out of nowhere she forgot about what had happened.

As mentioned before I found myself dumb founded. How can a avarage woman suddenly forget what one was doing out of nowhere? For example, my friend wouldn't suddenly forget what we were watching TV. Something even hard to understand was how did she forget if she didn't even have a hadicap? Is the avarage person really dumb?

Hazel and George really don't react to the murder of their son. They weren't exactly there where their son died, but they saw it on TV. The TV has them so brainwashed that if the TV tells them it was an "example" of what would happen to them, society might have believed the government.

Hazel can't process the information quickly and yet she reacts. She is crying to the murder of her son. But since they are only outbursts of thoughts, she quickly forgets it and simply says "Something real sad on TV" as an excuse for crying. George wasn't there to see his son die for he had left the room to get something. But if he was there, his chain of thoughts would be interrupted by the handicap he has.

Being brain washed and controlled with handicappers, George and Hazel do no realize that their son was shot and killed.

Hazel and George cannot react to the murder of their son because they simply cannot. The government, while giving them their handicaps, removes Hazel and George's ability to feel any type of feeling. It is not because they do not want to feel, or because they forget. They just cannot feel anything, because the government has controlled the activities than happens in their brains.

Hazel and George barely even recognized their own son getting shot by the person who put all these handicaps on them. They said they recognized that person from somewhere when looking at their son and Hazel couldn't remember why she was crying after seeing her son getting shot on national TV after levitating.

Hazel and George react to the televised murder of their son as nothing happened. It's because Hazel has some mental problems that makes her forget things really fast. George can't remember because of the handicap he had. So they reacted as nothing happened when their son was televised.

Hazel and George were surpriced about watching their son die, but at the same time were not. Hazel was able to cry for a while because she had her handicup, but as a contrast George could not react to it because if he did the balance would be destroyed among them.

Hazel and George do not react to the murder of their son. This shows the reader how the society has changed completely. It seems they are not realizing what really is happening. They are not aware of the magnitude of the issue.

Hanzel and George do not react to their son's murder because Hanzle cannot remember anything and George a little chip inside him, because he is supirior sets off and makes him "forget"
